Need a quiet corner during worship? Check out our new gliders in the sanctuary to rock and soothe your little one. The presence of your child is a gift to First Presbyterian and they are a reminder that our congregation is growing. We know that it took a lot of work to get to this space today; you are doing a really good job!

Children's Worship Bags are available in the front and the back of the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Children are welcome to use a bag before the Children's Moment and keep it through the end of the service. The bags and can be returned to the same stands but you feel free to keep your bulletin! After the Children's Moment, grades K-2 are invited to follow Ms. Kerri in the Ministry Center for Children's Church.

Our worship bags are now set up with two age ranges in mind:
Yellow Bags are suggested for Ages 3-6
Blue Bags are suggested for Ages 7+

Would you like to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or honor a loved one who has passed?  See the sign-up sheet in the Narthex of the church or call the church office at 252-637-3270.

Nametags
As more of the congregation is returning to worship in person after not seeing one another in quite a while AND to help new staff  become acquainted with the congregation, we want to encourage everyone to get in the habit of wearing your name tags again!  If you have misplaced yours, Marcy, our Office Administrator, is happy to make you another one (marcy@firstpresnb.org).  There is a board in the Narthex where you can leave your nametag at the end of the service, and it will be waiting for you the next Sunday.
Welcoming Tip of the Month
Will you help make space for a newcomer or latecomer this fall? As we get back into the full swing of services this fall, it can be tricky for a newcomer or latecomer to find an available seat. Please sit in the middle of the pew, if you are physically able - and maybe even move toward the front of the sanctuary.  In all likelihood, folks feel more welcome when they can quickly spot a seat they can easily access, instead of having to tap on shoulders and do the pew-slide.

First Presbyterian Church identifies itself as a welcoming community of faith and intends to be an inclusive place of spiritual growth for all people.

The Welcoming Committee over the months will be offering you tips to strengthen the hospitality of our congregation.

Centering Prayer Group

Don’t let this title frighten you off. Centering prayer has been around for a long time and is regaining more attention as a useful way of nurturing our new life in God’s Spirit. We will study The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr as our guide in re-discovering God’s Spirit present in all life. Contact Lloyd Griffith.

Contemplative Worship

This contemplative, or reflective, approach to worship is offered each Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This quiet service is focused around silence, prayer and reflection on the Biblical text chosen for preaching the coming Sunday. The Lord’s Supper is observed on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Join when you can and bring a friend. Contact Lloyd Griffith.
