Coins for Hunger during the regular offering the first Sunday of the month.
The idea behind Coins for Hunger (a long-standing First Presbyterian practice that was paused during Covid) was to set aside a few coins at each meal as a way of both experiencing and encouraging gratitude.
And then, as an act of faith, to bring those coins to the church on the first Sunday of each month. The coins will be collected during the offering, counted, and the proceeds will be sent to Religious Community Services for their food programs.
We’ve been distributing mason jar banks you can keep on your table. You are welcome to bring those jars in and empty them into the bucket- or you can just bring the coins. If you’d rather, you can also keep recycling the coins on your table and write a check to First Presbyterian - just place it in one of the RCS envelopes included with your giving envelopes or write “RCS” on the memo line of your check. If you missed getting a jar - we still have some! Stop by and pick one up from the church office.
