Session I
January 8 - February 12

The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis and the Most Reluctant Convert Movie
Led by Jim Copland
Session House - Main RoomSUNDAY AT THE MOVIES!
2022 and early 2023 have provided several opportunities for our congregation to study C. S. Lewis (renowned British scholar and Christian apologist from the first half of the twentieth century) and his works. We were introduced to The Great Divorce by Maren in her Thursday AM Women’s Bible Study, to The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe (part of his Narnia fantasy series) by Jessica Skinner in an Advent Sunday school series, and during January to Lewis’ The Four Loves as shared with us by Jim Copland, also as an adult Sunday school class. Now is our chance to get to know the man himself and his Christian journey which has impacted literally millions over the past century, seekers and Christians alike.
For two Sundays (Feb 5th and Feb 12th) after the current Four Loves class in the big room in the Session House has ended, there will be a showing, also during the Sunday school hour from 9:40 to 10:40 of the movie The Most Reluctant Convert. The first half will be shown on the 5th and the second half on the 12th, with discussion opportunities at the end of the hour each day.
Norman Lear (yes, that Norman Lear of Archie Bunker/All in the Family fame!) said of this film, “God knows we need more intriguing, faith-oriented films like this. Noble is the right word; I would also add courageous and powerful. Bravo! …. true [artistry]!” The film is a project of the Fellowship of Performing Arts, a “New York City-based production company producing theater and film from a Christian worldview to engage a diverse audience….in a way that is imaginative, multilayered, and relatable to audiences from any faith perspective or none at all”, which, its appears, now includes Norma Lear.
THIS YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS. Join us on Sundays, 2-5-23 and 2-12-23! Bring a friend! No popcorn is available, but goodies will be, as always, available in the Fellowship Cafe before the viewing. A love offering in support of the mission of FPA will be taken both Sundays.
